The wrench (10) has a torque transmitting shaft (12) with a ratchet head (14) to be provided with the appropriate bit. The handle (22) is hollow and accommodates two piezo elements (26,28) used for generating power to be saved in a capacitor (32). The transformed voltage (34) can also be used for the supply of other devices located at the tool (10). For use the direction is selected with a switch (20) and the appropriate bit attached. The forces applied on the tool (10) are transferred into electric energy and determined with a strain gauge (36). The obtained data are shown on a display (40) at the handle (22).
