A method for controlling peripheral devices in a mobile terminal is provided to control peripheral devices by using a single mobile terminal, without the necessity of their respective remote controllers, by storing the same control information as a specific peripheral device so that the specific peripheral device can be remotely controlled. The control part of a mobile terminal accesses a supplemental function control server according to the user's key operation(201). The control part checks whether the user makes key input to select a desired peripheral device to be controlled and a specific supplemental function for the peripheral device(203). If a desired peripheral device and a specific supplemental function are selected, the control part downloads a control information list for the selected supplemental function and stores the downloaded control information list in the memory(205). Then, if the user selects specific supplemental function control information among the downloaded control information list, the control part checks whether the user inputs a key to output the selected supplemental function control information(207). If key input for output of the selected supplemental function control information is detected, the control part reads associated control information from the memory(S209) and sends it to the associated device(211). |
