A method for adjusting a recording pulse width in an optical disc device is provided to improve recording quality by determining a multi-pulse width with the minimum jitter value when recording data by a multi-pulse type. A microcomputer adds and subtracts a multi-pulse width when data are recorded by a multi-pulse type, and records test data(S10-S14). The microcomputer detects a specific value of the recorded test data(S15,S16). The microcomputer determines a width of a multi-pulse for recording data on the basis of the detected characteristic(S17,S18).
