<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip fitting structure with excellent decorativeness, obtained at a low cost by forming a through-hole in the body part of the clip, then covering the surface of the body part of the clip with a part of a barrel and forming a securing part on the covered part. <P>SOLUTION: The clip of a writing utensil has such a clip fitting structure that the base part of a clip rear end is secured to a fitting part provided projecting from the outer surface of the barrel. The through-hole is formed in the body part of the clip, and the surface of the body part of the clip is covered with a part of the barrel.
