PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the practical use of a thermionic generating device (10) functioning in a low temperature region in a thermionic generator by connecting a plurality of thermionic generating devices (10) in series to increase the output voltage, and on the other hand by deterring the heat transfer from the emitter to the collector to prevent the deterioration of generating efficiency. SOLUTION: The thermionic generator comprisies the thermionic generating device (10) wherein the emitter (11) for emitting thermions and the collector (12) for collecting these thermions are arranged with a predetermined separation gap between them, and a high temperature heat source connected to the emitter (11), In the generator, there are provided conducting wires (15) for electrically connecting the plurality of thermionic generating devices (10) in series, and heat conduction suppressors (16, 24) for suppressing the heat conduction from the emitter (11) side to the collector (12) side in the lead (15).
