PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior structure of a pottery furnace in which the temperature on the surface of an exterior material can be maintained in the range having enough safety without enlarging a pottery furnace, the amount of heat stored in the brick can be reduced and the prompt change to the low temperature from the elevated temperature is possible. SOLUTION: The exterior structure comprises exterior component materials 27-31 so that a peripheral wall of a calcination furnace 2 may be covered through the gap. In a lower part of a calcination furnace 2, the lower edge sides of the exterior component materials 28 and 29 open on the peripheral wall of the calcination furnace 2 estranging each other and in an upper part of the calcination furnace 2, the exterior component materials 28 and 29 curve toward the peripheral wall of the calcination furnace 2 and a plurality of through-holes of 28g and 29g are prepared on an upper wall and a sidewall of the exterior component materials 28 and 29 via the curved part. In addition, guide objects which spread out in a slope shape toward a lower part and inner part connecting with upper end of the through-holes are prepared in the through-holes formed on the side walls of the exterior component materials 28 and 29.
