PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall material mounting structure for easily installing a wall material on wall backing, excellent in heat insulating property, fireproofness, waterproofness, working efficiency, and the like without driving fasteners such as nails directly into the wall material. SOLUTION: The wall material mounting structure comprises the long-sized wall material B formed with a female rabbet at one side edge in the width direction and a male rabbet at the other side edge, a fixture F for locking the wall material B, and a long-sized backing-cum-mounting member A serving as a male-female rabbet structure. The fixture F is formed of a fixed piece; a bottom piece; a side piece; a mounting groove formed of the bottom piece and the side piece; an upper side piece bent in L-shape; a locking piece and a fitting groove formed by the side piece and the upper side piece; and a looseness preventive piece 31. A plurality of mounting members A serving as the backing are connected and fixed to the wall backingαby fastenersβ, and a plurality of fixtures F are fixed onto the backing-cum-mounting members A serving as the backing.
