A method and a system for providing a location-based service of a roaming subscriber are provided to accurately calculate a location of a roaming subscriber belonging to a visiting network that belongs to a WCDMA network. A PDE(Position Determination Entity)(310) receives a request for location information of a roaming subscriber. A DGMLC(Dual Gateway Mobile Location Center)(316) checks whether a roaming terminal of the subscriber belongs to a 3G(Third Generation) network. When the roaming terminal belongs to the 3G, a PS(Positioning Server)(330) establishes a session with the roaming terminal and calculates a location of the roaming terminal based on a GPS through the established session.
