A device and a method for storing data, and a recording medium thereof are provided to reduce time needed for data backup in a mobile system like a smart card including an EEPROM(Electronically Erasable Programmable ROM). A memory(10) stores source data. The non-volatile memory(20) like the EEPROM is equipped with a backup area(22). A transaction managing module(32) determines initialization of a data storage device or termination of atomic transaction. In case that the data storage device is initialized or the atomic transaction is terminated, the transaction managing module deletes all data stored in the backup area of the non-volatile memory and stores the source data stored in the memory to the backup area. The transaction managing module deletes the data stored in the backup area by a page unit.
