Method and apparatus of controlling an internal combustion engine

The control process is applied to a regulator for each individual cylinder of the engine. The regulators adapt a characteristic combustion value to a common intended value. Learning values based on the output values of each regulator are reported and used for the pre-control of the regulator, which is thus ready for instant operation when the engine is started.
