A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent discharge cells from being under-discharged by generating a stable address discharge while using a single scan driving scheme. A plasma display device includes plural scan and sustain electrodes and plural third electrodes, which cross the scan and sustain electrodes. The scan electrodes are divided into plural groups having first and second groups(YG1,YG2). During an address period, a first scan pulse is applied on a first scan electrode of a first group, while a first voltage is applied on the first sustain electrode corresponding to the scan electrode of the first group. A second scan pulse, which follows the first scan pulse, is applied on the first scan electrode, while a second voltage is applied on the first sustain electrode. A third scan pulse is applied on the second scan electrode from the second group during at least a portion of the period where the second scan pulse is applied on the first scan electrode. A fourth scan pulse, which follows the third scan pulse, is applied on the second scan electrode.
