A structure of a superframe transmitted in a wireless communication network, a method for transmitting the superframe, and a method for controlling wakeup of a device through the superframe are provided to reduce data traffic in a WPAN, by enabling an individual device to grasp awake/sleep state of other devices by broadcasting a local wakeup period(LWI) in the WPAN. In a superframe(400) transmitted and received in a wireless communication network, an LWS(Local Wakeup Superframe) period field(431) is period information of the superframe where a device is wakeup. An LWS countdown field(432) is residual superframe number information to the superframe where the device is wakeup. The wireless communication network is realized with a WiMEDIA radio flatform, and the superframe is generated from a WiNET(WiMedia Network Protocol Adaptation Layer). |
