TOUCH SENSOR AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

A touch sensor and an operating method thereof are provided to secure exact detection of touching and to prevent malfunction of the sensor due to the change of operation environment, by periodically correcting the pulse width of a pulse signal according to the operation environment. A touch sensor includes a pulse signal generating unit(1) for generating a pulse signal with pulse width adjusted in response to a control code; a pulse signal transmitting unit(2) for transmitting the pulse signal when an object is not contacted to a contact pad(PAD) and not transmitting the pulse signal when the object is contacted to the contact pad; a pulse signal detecting unit(3) for detecting the pulse signal sent through the pulse signal transmitting unit; and a control unit(4) for informing a non-contact state when the pulse signal detecting unit senses the pulse signal and then correcting the pulse width of the pulse signal by regulating the control code.
