A device for enveloping circumferential gas of air knives, which simplifies structure and operation as compared with an existing sealed type device by enabling an encirclement space to be varied while using an inert gas ejected from the air knife, and a method for galvanizing a steel sheet using the same are provided. A device(1) for enveloping circumferential gas of air knives(100) comprises: first envelopment means(30) rotatably installed on lower parts of the air knives to form a non-oxidizing atmosphere(10) by enabling a wiping gas to be encircled in a width direction of the air knives, wherein the air knives are oppositely installed right above a plating bath(110) to adjust a hot dip galvanizing amount of a strip(S) to be plated passing through a space between the air knives; and second envelopment means(50) movably installed at both sides of the air knives to form a non-oxidizing atmosphere by enabling the wiping gas to be encircled in a length direction of the air knives.
