FIELD: electrical engineering; commutator-and-brush gear for direct-current machines. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed current-collecting device for DC machines that uses rolling contact afforded by relatively insulated flexible conducting rings uniformly disposed in commutator-to-brush clearance instead of commonly used sliding contact between brush and commutator.
