<p>The method involves determining a particular magnitude such that one fourth of values of a determined number of signal values are higher or equal to the magnitude and the remaining values are lower or equal to the magnitude. Value of the magnitude is chosen for a signal value to be determined. The determined number is equal to the set of values received from the signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for demodulating a signal modulated using a hierarchical 8-phase shift keying modulation (2) a device for estimating a value for a signal formed with a series of values corresponding to the value to be estimated or another value in opposition to the value to be estimated.</p> |
