A method for changing the character size of a message in a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a user to expansively view characters of certain size by using a pop-up window or a magnifier window in the terminal, thus the user is able to more easily read a message while a message input provision for an existing emoticon is maintained. A controller checks whether a message input mode is selected by a user's key operation(201). If so, the controller inputs a message(203). The controller checks whether an inputted character size changing menu is selected by the user's key operation(205). If so, the controller displays a message expansive input pop-up window(207), and continuously inputs the message on the displayed expansive input pop-up window(209).
