An apparatus for preventing an over-voltage during a charging operation in a mobile communication terminal is provided to block a charging operation when an over-voltage is generated by detecting the inflow of an over-voltage to a charging port during the charging operation. An over-voltage detection part detects whether an input voltage supplied from a power supply unit is above a reference level. A switching part(12) is installed between the power supply unit and a battery, and insulates the power supply unit and the battery by being switched off when the input voltage detected in the over-voltage detection part is above the reference level.
