A multi-purpose exercise device is provided to let users take various exercises in a narrow space and to adjust the length according to the body shape of the user. The multi-purpose exercise device is composed of left and right support plates(11,12) coming into contact with the ground and facing each other; a horizontal mounting bar(10) of which one end is fixed to the left support plate and the other end is settled to the right support plate, formed like a rod of the predetermined length; a pair of vertical posts(13) protruded upward and combined at the left and right sides of the horizontal mounting bar to relatively move against the horizontal mounting bar in the longitudinal direction; an automatic return device(16) joined to the horizontal mounting bar with spacing from the vertical post and automatically returned against tensile force; a rear support plate(28) separated from the left and right support plates and positioned in the rear side while coming into contact with the ground; a bed unit(20) of which one end is combined to the horizontal mounting bar and the other end is joined to the rear support plate; a fixing saddle unit detachably combined on the upper side of the bed unit by a fixing pin(24); a slider unit(25) disposed in the rear side of the fixing saddle unit and combined to the bed unit to reciprocatingly slide in the longitudinal direction of the bed unit; and a stepper(15) of which one end is separated from the automatic return device and combined to the horizontal mounting bar and the other end is joined by a connecting part(13a) protruded and extended from the vertical post, relatively moving against the horizontal mounting bar in the vertical direction according to the movement of the vertical post.
