A method of monitoring leakage of an engine for a vehicle is provided to compensate a fuel amount in consideration of a vapor state according to a fuel temperature to prevent incorrect diagnosis of the leakage. A method of monitoring leakage of an engine for a vehicle includes a first step(S100) of determining whether an outdoor temperature is higher or lower than a predetermined temperature, a second step(S200,S250) of measuring a throttle position sensor value and a vehicle speed to determine a running state of the vehicle, a third step(S300,S350) of determining whether a driveability index exists, a fourth step(S400) of calculating a fuel amount, and a fifth step(S500) of compensating the fuel amount calculated by the fourth step by using the driveability index and a lead vapor pressure when it is determined that the driveability index exists by the third step.
