<p>In an elevator apparatus, a car and a counterweight are suspended within a hoistway according to a 2:1 roping method by means of a main rope. The main rope has a car-side end portion and a counterweight-side end portion connected to an upper portion of the hoistway. A car oscillation detector for detecting oscillation of the car-side end portion is provided in the upper portion of the hoistway. A mischief detecting portion detects mischief-related car oscillation according to a signal from the car oscillation detector.</p> |
