A dialing method using a one-touch dial function in a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable the terminal to carry out the one-touch dial function by using consonants allocated to number keys, thereby enabling a user of the terminal to easily search a name stored in a phone book and originate a call to a callee having the name. A terminal controller checks whether a callee's telephone number and name are inputted and a key for storing the telephone number is inputted(201). If so, the controller stores the number as the callee's name, and sets search frequency to 0(203). The controller checks whether a key for a one-touch dial function is inputted(205). If so, the controller checks whether the one-touch dial function is set in name order(207). If so, the controller searches names according to the set one-touch dial function(211), and decides whether one name is searched(213). If not, the controller checks whether a key for selecting one of the searched names is inputted(215). If so, the controller attempts call-origination to the selected number(217). |
