A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PIG PLACENTAL EXTRACT TO USE AS A FEED ADDITIVE AND USE THEREOF

A method of producing a pig placental extract by alkali hydrolysis of pig placenta with sodium hydroxide is provided. The method improves drawback of conventional placenta extraction method and reduces the cost of production. The pig placental extract is used as a feed additive for animal feed. The pig placental extract is manufactured by mixing 500ml 3N NaOH and 1kg pig placenta and heating at 110deg.C for 5 to 12hr. The hot air extract, alkali hydrolysate or dried powder of pig placenta is mixed with excipients in a weight ratio of 1:1 and dried to give solids having a moisture content of 0 to 10%. Animal feed is prepared by adding 0.2% by weight of the solids to animal feed.
