An accessory for an image pickup apparatus is provided to allow a user to easily rotate an engagement ring rid by using a wide outer peripheral surface of the engagement ring. An accessory for an image pickup apparatus includes an accessory body(102), a screw engaging unit, a fixation plate(106), and an engagement ring rid(105). The engagement ring rid is screw-coupled to the screw engaging unit between the lower surface of the accessory body and the fixation plate and has a reception space of an accessory shoe. The engagement ring lid accommodates all of the upper surface of the accessory shoe of the image pickup apparatus and at least a portion of a side surface section, with the accessory being engaged with the accessory shoe. |
