A water cooling type cover for a main runner of a blast furnace is provided to improve durability and expand the replacement period by forming plural support plates minimizing the thermal deformation outside the cover. A water cooling type cover for a main runner of a blast furnace comprises a semi-circular case(110) covering the upper part of the main runner, and minimizing the thermal deformation and defect caused by the contact with the high temperature molten metal by forming a melting reinforcing unit(150) upwardly protruded at both sides, and thickening a refractory body(120); the refractory body mounted in the case to increase the heat resistance against the high temperature molten metal; plural support plates(130) separately mounted outside the case at regular intervals; a coolant circulation pipe(140) wholly circulating the upper part of the case, having a reversed L shape from the section of view, closely adhering to the support plate, and forming the coolant circulation space(A); and a coolant nozzle(141) mounted at one side of the coolant circulation pipe to feed and drain coolant.
