A ceramic filter composed of a honeycomb structure (10) having a number of longitudinally bored cells disposed side by side with the inlet end surfaces (10a) and outlet end surfaces (10b) in the cells for an exhaust gas (G) being alternately sealed. An inlet seal (sealant (16)) is deeper than an outlet seal (sealant (16)). Thereby, the flow of the exhaust gas (G) has a turbulent flow tendency decreased and a laminar flow tendency increased on the inlet side, making it possible to suppress the formation of an offset Oil-Ash stack in the vicinity of the end surface on the inlet side. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007 |
