A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to enhance gradation representing performance of the plasma display device by applying sustain pulses with different frequencies to the same sub-field. A plasma display device(200) includes scan electrodes(Y1~Yn), sustain electrodes(Z), and a sustain pulse controller(201). The sustain pulse controller applies at least two sustain pulse groups having different frequencies to the scan and sustain electrodes. The sustain pulse group includes first and second sustain pulse groups, where the first sustain pulse group has a frequency lower than the second sustain pulse group and is applied earlier than the second sustain pulse group. The sustain pulse group includes a third sustain pulse group, which has a frequency higher than the first sustain pulse group.
