An indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided to form discharge holes over the entire outer peripheral surface of a main body for discharging chilled or heated air in every direction of the main body, thereby realizing cooling or heating of a room in a short time. An indoor unit for an air conditioner includes a main body(10) having a base(12) and a body part(11) mounted on the base and formed with an air suction hole(11a) at a top part and air discharge holes(11b) at an entire peripheral surface thereof. An indoor fan is mounted in the main body for inhaling room air via the air suction hole and discharging the same via the air discharge holes after heat exchange. |
