An apparatus for controlling a washing machine with a radio receiving function is provided to apply the radio receiving function to the monitor apparatus and give the washing progressing recognition function to a user. An apparatus for controlling a washing machine with a radio receiving function is composed of: the washing machine operating the washing course by the rotary motion of the drum; and a monitor apparatus for receiving the radio signal by containing a radio receiving function. The monitor apparatus comprises: a communication part(110) operating the power line communication with the washing machine, transferring a control command of the washing machine, and receiving the status information of the washing machine; an RF receiving part(120) for receiving the radio frequency; a sound output part(160) for outputting the status information of the washing machine and the radio frequency into sound signals; and a monitor control part(140) for controlling the status information of the washing machine or the radio signal to be outputted through the sound output part.
