An LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to achieve an LCD panel enabling the control of viewing angle, by disposing a viewing angle controlling cell containing pigments on an upper side or a lower side of an LCD panel. An LCD comprises an LCD panel(100) and a viewing angle controlling cell(200) contacted with the LCD panel. The viewing angle controlling cell includes a lower substrate(211) with a first electrode(213), an upper substrate(241) with a second electrode(217), and a sheet layer(221) composed of pigments. An insulating layer(215) is interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The sheet layer is interposed between the lower substrate and the upper substrate.
