A construction method of a steel pipe roof structure is provided to reduce the time and cost required for construction and to improve construction quality and stability by using a steel pipe roof structure having horizontal stiffness after coupling with reinforced concrete. A construction method of a steel pipe roof structure(950) comprises the steps of: excavating the ground to a propulsion base, installing piles on both side walls and installing struts and vertical stiffeners on the upper part of the propulsion base horizontally or vertically to secure stability against earth pressure; constructing a reaction wall and propulsion rails after spreading footing rubbles on the propulsion base and placing concrete; manufacturing a steel pipe(500) to be the center of a steel pipe roof structure after measuring the propulsion location for a steel pipe for the center of a steel pipe roof structure; selecting the propulsion location of propulsion facilities and installing propulsion facilities composed of an H-beam shaped propulsion rail for guiding the horizontal movement of the steel pipe, a push bar for propelling the steel pipe and a hydraulic jack for propulsion for pushing the push bar; propelling the steel pipe using the hydraulic jack for propulsion and the push bar; after propelling the steel pipe completely, removing the propulsion rail, the hydraulic jack for propulsion and the push bar and measuring for confirmation; manufacturing steel pipes(700) for the general section; manufacturing propulsion facilities composed of a propulsion rail, a push bar and a hydraulic jack for propulsion, and propelling the steel pipes; connecting the steel pipe for the center and the steel pipes for the general section in one roof and welding reinforcing bars through connecting grooves of the steel pipes; placing concrete in the steel pipes and curing the concrete surface; excavating the inside of the steel pipe roof structure primarily and secondarily; and arranging reinforcing bars and spraying mortar or putting a form and placing concrete.
