A method for starting a sensorless motor and a system therefor are provided to prevent an inverter from being shut down due to an over-current of a motor by stopping a motor from generating a counter electro-motive force although a torque is pressed by an external part. A method for starting a sensorless motor includes the steps of: determining that the rotor rotates in a clockwise direction or counter-clockwise direction(208); if the rotor rotates in a counter-clockwise direction, making a phase winding wires of a motor short(210); removing the short circuit of a phase winding wires of the motor, and applying to the motor by bringing about a clockwise direction rotation current vector of an open loop; rotating the rotor by a start speed in a clockwise direction(216); and applying the clockwise direction rotation current vector of a closed loop to the motor so that the speed of a rotor is accelerated to a predetermined speed. |
