The device has a flat lighting element (1) e.g. anti-corrosion layer, comprising a plastic support having an electroluminescent film and electrodes applied on opposed faces of the film. Cases (2, 2`) form a handle containing an energy source and are placed at spaced ends of the lighting element. The cases are assembled to the element (1) in a detachable manner. The element (1) comprises an electric conductor that connects the electrodes to a connector. The energy source comprises another connector detachably connected to the former connector.
