An expansion antenna apparatus of a mobile communication terminal and a method for using the same are provided to receive a receiving signal by using an expansion antenna apparatus in a place where a signal transmitted from a base station is not received. An expansion antenna apparatus of a mobile communication terminal includes a first antenna module, a receiving signal amplifying unit(330), a signal coupling unit(340), and a transmission signal amplifying unit(350). The first antenna module receives the receiving signal transmitted from a predetermined base station, and transmits a signal coupled to a mobile communication terminal. The receiving signal amplifying unit(330) receives the receiving signal from the first antenna module through a predetermined duplexer, amplifies the received signal, and generates a first amplifying signal. The signal coupling unit(340) couples and transmits the first amplifying signal to a second antenna module of the mobile communication terminal. The signal coupling unit(340) couples and transmits the transmission signal transmitted from the second antenna module to the transmission signal amplifying unit(350). The transmission signal amplifying unit(350) amplifies the transmission signal and generates a second amplifying signal.
