An audio signal output method of a home theater system is provided to be capable of automatically outputting a multi-channel audio signal through a multi-channel speaker in a selective way without a user's operation, depending on whether the multi-channel audio signal is received, thus the user's usage convenience is increased. It is checked whether an audio signal of received broadcasting signals is a multi-channel digital audio signal(202,204). If so, the first speaker is muted(206). Power of the second speaker is turned on according to the multi-channel digital audio signal(208,210). The multi-channel digital audio signal is outputted through the second speaker(212). The first speaker is for outputting an analog audio signal.
