A display device is provided to reduce the number of component parts, thereby saving the manufacturing cost, by arranging data lines in a lateral direction and gate lines in a longitudinal direction. A display device comprises a TFT substrate(500) and a color filter substrate(400). The TFT substrate includes a plurality of data lines(110), a plurality of gate lines(120), and a plurality of cells formed by the data lines and the data lines. The data lines are arranged in a lateral direction, and the gate lines are formed in a longitudinal direction. Each cell has a thin film transistor(300) and one of pixel electrodes(210R,210G,210B). The color filter substrate has a first pixel(200) and a common electrode(220) formed below the first pixel. Rectangle-shaped red, green, and blue sub pixels(200R,200G,200B), which are orderly arranged in the lateral direction, constitute the first pixel. |
