An alignment method is provided to allow omission of separate alignment layer formation when an in-cell photo compensation film is formed and thus reduce a manufacturing cost by performing alignment by forming scratches on a surface of a substrate using a rubbing cloth. Scratches are formed on a surface of a substrate(100) to provide predetermined orientation. A surface of the substrate with the rubbed surface is coated with a liquid crystal material having anisotropy to form an optical functional layer. The optical functional layer is hardened to form a light compensation film(110) having light compensation characteristics. |
