A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to form a protection film without a damage of an organic layer by forming a protection film on a common electrode by a vacuum evaporation scheme. A display device includes a display substrate(110), a thin film transistor, a first electrode, an organic layer(111), a second electrode(198), a protection film(280), and a transparent film(290). The thin film transistor is formed on the display substrate(110). The first electrode is connected to the thin film transistor. The organic layer(111) is formed on the first electrode. The second electrode(198) is formed on the organic layer(111). The protection film(280) is formed on the second electrode(198). The transparent film(290) is formed on the protection film(280).
