A method and an apparatus for estimating an SOH(State Of Health) of a battery are provided to easily detect the SOH of the battery by reading the SOH corresponding to the measured inner resistance in real time through an SOH estimation table. An apparatus for estimating an SOH of a battery includes a memory unit(202), a current and voltage measuring unit(204), a temperature measuring unit(206), an SOC estimation unit(208), and a control unit(200). The memory unit(202) stores an SOH estimation table which has an SOH value corresponding to an inner resistance classified by a temperature and the SOC. The current and voltage measuring unit(204) measures a current and a voltage of the battery. The temperature measuring unit(206) measures a temperature. The SOC estimation unit(208) estimates the SOC of the battery. The control unit(200) enables the temperature measuring unit(206) to measure a temperature, and enables the SOC estimation unit(208) to estimate the SOC of the battery. The control unit(200) enables the current and voltage measuring unit(204) to measure the current and voltage of the battery, and calculates an inner resistance from the measured current and voltage. The control unit(200) reads the SOH corresponding to the measured temperature, the estimated SOC, and the calculated inner resistance from the SOH estimation table. |
