Device for template-assisted braiding comprises a loom disc and a pattern. The loom disc and pattern have matching printed or embossed markings. The pattern is aligned with a central hole in the disc by clamping or folding. The central hole can be rectangular, polygonal or circular. The disc and pattern can have instructions for use, especially readable by the blind. The disc can have 32-48 (preferably 40) thread-clamping slots. The slots are capable of clamping threads with a diameter of up to 4 mm. The pattern is a photographic representation of the intended braided pattern.
