A back light unit is provided to improve condensing efficiency and front luminance by removing a side lobe of projected light using a reflective polarizer. A back light unit includes at least one lamp(110) generating light, a light guide plate(120), a diffusion sheet(140), a lenticular lens sheet(150), and a reflective polarizer(160). The light guide plate converts the traveling direction of light inputted from the lamp through a light-receiving face corresponding to the side of the light guide plate to a vertical direction. The diffusion sheet is located on the light guide plate and diffuses light transmitting the light guide plate. The lenticular lens sheet condenses light transmitting the diffusion sheet. The reflective polarizer is placed on the lenticular lens sheet and enhances one of an S-polarized beam and a P-polarized beam of the light condensed by the lenticular lens sheet. |
