A method and a device for offering configuration of hardware resources specified in a test template are provided to offer default parameters and hardware resource configuration for performing a test in an ATE(Automatic Test Equipment). An ATE test template tool is displayed(102). If a user selects the test template from the ATE test template tool, the default parameters of the selected test template are displayed(104). Access to a test template configuration tool for enabling the user to configure at least one hardware resource specified by the test template is provided to the user(106).
