A vacuum pump for dental service is provided to prevent excessive friction force from being generated at a mechanical seal unit by driving a motor after the time for feeding the water to the mechanical seal unit is elapsed. The vacuum pump for dental service is composed of an input unit(100) inputting an operation starting signal or an operation stop signal from an operator; a flow sensing unit(110) outputting a water flow signal or a water non-flow signal by detecting the flow of the water supplied from a water supply valve to a casing; a control unit(120) outputting a valve opening signal opening the water supply valve to feed the water into the casing when the operation starting signal is input from the input unit and a motor driving signal driving the motor when the predetermined time for supplying the water to a mechanical seal unit sealing a rotating body rotatively installed at a rotary shaft of the motor and a fixed body is elapsed, after the water flow signal is input from the flow sensing unit; a motor driving unit(130) starting driving the motor when the motor driving signal is input from the control unit and stopping driving the motor when a motor stop signal is input; and a water supply unit(140) opening the water supply valve if the valve opening signal is input from the control unit and shutting off the water supply valve if the valve closing signal is input.
