<p>The instant device is a vacuum driven light bulb changer. The device has a power source that energizes the electrical circuitry so that when the power switch is activated it energizes a motor that activates a vacuum pump. The vacuum pump is connected directly to check valve via a vacuum line that terminates at the vacuum intake head located on the inside bottom surface of the vacuum cup. The activation of the vacuum pump draws air into the intake head on the vacuum cup. When the vacuum cup is place firmly against the outside surface of a light bulb the vacuum creates a depressurized zone against the outside surface of the light bulb and the inside bottom surface of the vacuum cup. During this operation the vacuum pump consistently will draw against the light bulb holding it firmly in place allowing the operator to rotate the light bulb into position or to remove the light bulb from its fixture. When this procedure is completed the operator simply will remove the device by activating the release mechanism which is designed to break the vacuum seal that has been created against the outside surface of the light bulb. The device allows the user to perform many maintenance operations from the safety of the ground.</p> |
