Reinforced composite articles and methods for making the same generally employ at least one polymeric reinforcement phase, typically provided as an intermediate form(l?) that may include a monolithic structure (e.g., a geophysical textile) , a multiple layer elongated member, or a combination. The intermediate form may be made and processed, for example, to form a composite article. Processing of the intermediate form (e.g., whether by an overmolding process or otherwise) , including any consolidation step, tends generally to result in a relatively high degree of retained morphology in the polymeric reinforcement material, and in articles having a relatively smooth surface.
