Provided are an air cleaner that applies a power source to a gas sensor only when a power is turned on, an air cleaner for displaying the measured pollution level by allowing a gas sensor to accurately measure a pollution level of indoor air although the gas sensor is not preheated, and a method for displaying a pollution level of the air cleaner. In a method for displaying a pollution level of an air cleaner that displays the measured pollution level on a display part by measuring a pollution level of indoor air at a gas sensor, the method comprises: applying a power source to the gas sensor when power of the air cleaner is turned on; measuring the pollution level of indoor air at the gas sensor to display the measured pollution level on the display part when the gas sensor is stabilized while the pollution level of indoor air is not measured at the gas sensor before the gas sensor is stabilized. The gas sensor is a semiconductor gas sensor, and the pollution level of indoor air is measured at the semiconductor gas sensor to display the measured pollution level on the display part when an output voltage of the semiconductor gas sensor is dropped and then rises although it is before the semiconductor gas sensor is stabilized after a power source is applied to the semiconductor gas sensor.
