<p>The production of hydrogen is carried out on board of a mobile mechanism at 5-fold surplus maximum of water, at 250-300[deg]C and at 60 bar, which is selected in such a way that the energy content of reaction mixture is sufficient enough to evaporate excess water during relaxation of by-product solid solution (6) occurring downstream to the hydrogen production. The relaxation of the by-product solution takes places up to ambient pressure in an atomization device (7). The hydrogen is partly separated from the by-product solution in one separation step after the hydrogen production and before the relaxation of the by-product solution. The relaxation of the by-product solution is carried out as other separation step, and the surplus water is separated from the solid by-product. The separated hydrogen is supplied to a hydrogen-consuming mechanism, in which the separated hydrogen is partly converted into product water, and the product water is partly recycled to produce further hydrogen by reaction of water with a complex metal hydride.
