An image output apparatus capable of offline printing or displaying image and text data automatically and efficiently to a digital copying machine, a printer, a facsimile, a liquid crystal projector, a television set and the like is provided. Discrimination is conducted as to whether data in a data file to be printed, which is read out from a memory card by a memory card controller (88), is color or monochrome image data.
