A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to freely control a viewing angle according to the existence of an electric signal by using an electrochromic material. A display panel displays images. A switching panel(120) is attached to the display panel for selectively realizing a wide viewing angle mode and a narrow viewing angle mode according to the existence of an electric signal. The switching panel is divided into a light-transmitting area and a non-light transmitting area by an electrochromic material.
