BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING THE SAME

A back light assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the back light assembly are provided to minimize deformation of the back light assembly due to heat from a light source and an external force to improve display quality. A back light assembly includes a light source and a reflecting member. The reflecting member reflects light emitted from the light source and includes a deformation prevention part formed at one side thereof. The deformation prevention part is a groove(75a) formed along one side of the reflecting member. The deformation prevention part is formed to intersect a machine direction of the reflecting member. The deformation prevention part is formed perpendicularly to the machine direction. The reflecting member includes a base sheet(73) and a plastic layer(71) formed on the base sheet. The deformation prevention part includes a cut formed along the end of the reflecting member.
